From Security Incident to a Cyber Security Career
Recently, I had the opportunity of being a guest on a podcast. Lucas talks to many people in the tech field as well as offers great personal finance content. Ever had a deep burning question around a financial situation? He probably has an episode on it.
Feel free to check out the conversation at the Tech Personal Finance Bootcamp Podcast.
I was able to share my ideas and experiences, with the objective of helping as many people as I can.
One thing that sent me into a deep dive in Cybersecurity was a Microsoft tech support scam in 2015, which triggered my curiosity and pushed me to research further. I was young and didn’t know much about computers at the time. I needed to know how this worked and how to avoid any future occurrence. From there, I kept researching and eventually started some home labs.
Read more about these kind of scams here.
I discuss my path and how non-traditional it was. From Construction, to Cybersecurity, looking back it was a lot of work and long nights, but all worthwhile.
I believe anyone with the drive and the vision can transition into this field.
For a little more on my story, you can refer to this post.
Conclusion
In conclusion, being on the Podcast with Lucas was about my story, contributing to a broader discussion, and helping others.
I plan on contributing with resources that I provide to the community to learn this field.
We all have a story to share that reminds us how far we’ve come. What is yours?
